It began on September 26th: Finish Line’s brand new program to sell high school merchandise in their stores. The new student section in the stores distributes a portion of the purchase price directly to the schools for every item of clothing apparel sold. Including Upper St. Clair High School, there are nearly 100 schools from coast to coast who are a part of this great opportunity.
The apparel its self ranges from a variety of tee shirts and hoodies. Every article of clothing also has the official school colors, logos, and/or mascot. Now, family members are able to support their student’s school spirit.
Not only do schools receive funds from the student products sold at the Finish Line stores, Finish Line is also sponsoring a high school fan contest on Facebook. First, students will be asked to upload photos, and then Facebook fans vote on their favorite photos that show the most school spirit. Out of the top five photos, Finish Line will choose the grand prize winner, and donate $10,000 to the winning school’s athletic department. There is also a real possibility that the winning school will be included for next year’s Finish Line Student apparel program.
Students seem to be very excited about the new program. As Upper St. Clair student Cooper Irons comments, “I think it’s great! Finish Line is selling more high-end products for Upper St. Clair, besides Wal-greens.”
Even the Vice President of Finish Line, David Oswald cannot wait for the impact this program will have on schools and families. As he said, “With this new program, we are thrilled to offer the fans of nearly 100 high schools across the country the opportunity to access officially licensed gear with sales directly benefitting the schools; This is a game fans cannot lose.”
In addition, the clothing is sold at Finish Line’s online website: www.FinishLine.com/StudentSection. The website will enable family members and students from around the country to support other high schools that friends and family far away may attend, and get in on the contagious school spirit attitude.
