October has just begun and what’s more characteristic of this month than Halloween? Who doesn’t love the candy, costumes, decorations, and parties that come with October?
One fun thing to consider doing this October would be going to see Little Lake Theatre’s own Halloween-inspired musical, Arthur’s Halloween. The musical is based on the popular children’s TV and book series and tells the story of 8 year-old Arthur Read the Aardvark as he prepares for “The Best Halloween Ever” tomorrow.
Arthur loves Halloween, except, of course, for all the scary things! The musical follows Arthur as he learns “It’s OK to be Scared Sometimes” and he eventually conquers his fears as he takes on his new role as “Arthur, the Brave!” Through the course of the musical Arthur also learns the importance of “Friends” and little sisters.
The musical suits Little Lake’s in-the-round theatre well and features adorable decorations and costumes that really bring the spirit of Halloween to life. The large, talented, young cast also does a fabulous job of creating an entertaining variety of loveable animal creatures. One cast member is even a local USC 8th grader! Carly Decock plays the role of Francine, one of Arthur’s friends.
If you find yourself bored this weekend, then consider making your way down to Little Lake Theatre’s Arthur’s Halloween. It runs Saturdays and Sundays at 1:30 pm through October 28. It’s definitely worth the trip.
