Ever since the announcement of a new trilogy for the Star Wars series, there have been various speculations regarding who will portray the new characters in these movies. One rumor is slowly becoming a reality as actor Harrison Ford is expressing interest in coming back to the Star Wars series.
Ford, now 70 years old, has also appeared in movies like The Fugitive, Air Force One, Clear and Present Danger, Blade Runner, and the famed Indiana Jones series. If Harrison would reprise his role as Han Solo, there will be a bunch of happy Star Wars fans.
For those who don’t know, Ford played the role of Han Solo, a rebellious and rogue bounty hunter who gained quite a fan following. Many fans love Han Solo, and this is evidenced in the amount of Han Solo action figures that have been sold to this day. This is why it makes sense to bring Ford back to the Star Wars series due to the fact that he was one of the most beloved characters in the old trilogy.
According to one Complex, “Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he’s upbeat about it, all three of them are.” The “three” refer to Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, and Ford. Fisher and Hamill played the role of Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker, respectively. If Ford was signed to the movie, it would lead to an inevitable death scene (Entertainment Weekly). Ford will not negotiate contracts until there is a director and a screenplay for the movie, meaning that Ford is not officially part of the crew just yet.
