Follow Lilly’s magical journey through the Moe’s menu!

In the world of gourmet fast food, Moe’s stands out. Their expansive menu, variety of salsas, and welcoming vibe attract many loyal patrons. Unlike the their biggest competitor, Chipotle, Moe’s has some unique aspects that appeal to the smart shopper. Namely, they have free chips and chip refills, six types of salsa, and a soda machine that makes all your dreams come true. However, in their quest to be super edgy, everything on the menu has a strange name, which is very confusing (and disappointing for those of you who actually want a bag of donuts).

My companions and I entered Moe’s with our hopes high and our hunger higher. As we explored their vast menu, we decided to test a variety of the food, including the key players: regular tacos, a classic burrito, the salad, and Moe’s take on the quesadilla. Our journey began as we tested the burrito, a staple menu item in the world of Tex-Mex food. As the great Shakespeare once wrote in his play Macbeth, “Is this a burrito which I see before me/ The tin foil toward my hand? Come let me clutch thee.” Although Moe’s is not as well-known for their burrito like Chipotle is, the burrito was nonetheless satisfying. The main appeal of the dish, which was bursting with ground beef, is that it’s a delicacy that isn’t offered with a side of E. coli.

After enjoying the well-wrapped treat, we moved on and tried the salad. We chose the vegetarian salad with a lime dressing. The lime dressing was very overpowering, but to our surprise, the lettuce was fresh and crisp. Overall, the salad was good.

Recovering from the taste of lime, we tested the taco: a classic Southwestern dish. The taco was nothing special, but there was an array of toppings to put on the taco. Moes’s taco may be better than anything you’ll make at home, but in the world of Southwestern cuisine it was only O.K.

Lastly we tried the quesadilla. This was the most disappointing meal we tried at Moe’s. While chicken was well-cooked, the chicken and cheese were unevenly disrupted. The only words that can be used to describe the quesadilla are sub-par. Regardless of the disappointing quesadilla, after leaving Moe’s, our hunger was sated and our dreams were fulfilled.
